Our History

Why We Started

Isabelle Olenik founded The Lancaster Snow Ball in 2022 as an event to give homeschoolers the chance to 1) meet other homeschoolers and have fun at prom/homecoming style event. And 2) give back to the community.

The first year was a success, our 105 guests had a great time and together we raised $3,000 for the Clare House.

In year two, the event was chaired by Reese Olenik and more than 130 attendees raised $5,000 for the Milagro House ane last year we topped 180 highschoolers.

Last year the committee chaired by Maggie Olenik, raised money for Walking Forward Together, a program that helps families after losing infants or going through child loss.

Our Team

Maggie

Maggie Olenik is a 16 year-old Junior. She attends Cornerstone co-op. Maggie runs Track and Field for McCaskey as well as playing Field Hockey. Maggie likes going to youth group at her Church and doing Art. She likes reading and listening to music. Maggie is the Chairperson.

Natalie

Natalie Olenik is a 14 year-old Freshman. She attends Cornerstone co-op and The Lancaster Academy for Performing Arts. Natalie plays Soccer and Track and Field, she enjoys going to youth group at her church and babysitting for family friends. Natalie is the Caterer and Venue Contact for the Snowball.

Everette

Everette Troyer is a 17 year-old Junior. He attends The Lancaster Academy for Performing Arts and Cornerstone co-op. Everette is involved with his co-op’s theatre program, he is also a part of the worship team at his church and is a member of lifecycles. He enjoys rock climbing and making music. Everette’s role is the DJ contact for the Snowball.

Abby

Abby Smoker is a 17 year-old Senior. She attends The Lancaster Academy for Performing Arts, she also used to attend Cornerstone and Treasures of Grace. Abby enjoys working as a barista as well as playing violin, going for walks and spending quality time with friends and family. She is in charge of Communications Outreach and is excited for this year's Snowball.

Kristin

Kristin Geissinger is a 16 year-old Junior. She attends Cornerstone co-op. She runs Cross Country and Track and Field. Kristin loves to bake and decorate cakes. Kristin has lived in 5 different states. Her role is the Vendor Liaison.

Cecelia

Cecilia Ellis is a 16 year-old Junior. She attends Cornerstone co-op. She plays Soccer and runs Track and Field. Cecilia likes reading, doing spontaneous things and doing big projects with her family. She is in charge of Ticket Sales and the Website.

Iyrie

Iyrie Yoder is a 16 year-old Junior. She attends Cornerstone co-op and is the Decorations Coordinator for the Snowball. Iyrie runs Track and Field, is on the Worship team at her church and plays the violin. She enjoys having plants and going shopping with friends and siblings.
